First Trimester: 8 weeks 4 days
Today is my follow up check on my new OB Gyne.
Laboratory results are within reference range but I need to repeat Urinalysis because of few bacteria found-suspected UTI. I would need to be treated with antibiotics(Cefuroxime Axetil 500mg) that is pregnancy safe but still effective in killing bacteria.
I was surprised to have UTI because I have no symptoms of UTI like
- painful urination
- pelvic or lower back pain
- feeling that you have to urinate frequently
Doctor explained that sometimes UTI in pregnant are asymptomatic.If left untreated,infections will increase the risk of premature labor.
As part of prenatal care,I saw this tiny baby fetty (as what i called my husband) so small that all i can visualize is a black hole.hahahaha.
First trimester ultrasound is used to:
- Confirm due dates
- Confirm baby’s heartbeat
- To rule out ectopic pregnancy
- To determine the number of fetus
A heartbeat can be detected as early as 5 to 6 weeks but not in our case.Tiny baby fetty has no heart beat detected since its 5 weeks 3 days and now on its 8 weeks 4 days. Doctor told me to wait until 13 weeks. If there still no heartbeat during that time dilation and curettage(D & C) or what we commonly known as raspa will be performed.
Praying hard for this little fighter.
