Pregnancy during Pandemic : New OB Gyne

March 13, 2020

First Trimester:7 weeks 4 days

If you are following my post you will know that i love my fertility OB but due to Covid 19 we are not able to cross the border going to National Capital Region . Increasing number of Covid positive cases leave us no choice but to change OB Gyne.

I don’t have the time to search for a Natural birth advocate OB Gyne so i just go to the nearest Maternity Clinic on my place. Hospitals near me has a covid positive records.

The first visit with the OB gyne is the getting to know each other stage.

Tips for first time mom:

  • Sweets,Salty and Oily foods are no-no for pregnant.
  • Drink hot water with pinch of calamansi or lemon if available early in the morning to help treat morning sickness.
  • The proper way to get out of the bed . Roll on your side then push yourself up with your arms, sit up then stand up.

  • Bending down during pregnancy. Keep the back straight and just bend the knees and hips.
  • Don’t crossed leg while sitting because it unbalanced the pelvic.
  • If experiencing severe headache and back pain proceed to the clinic immediately because it can be a sign of serious problem like a preterm labor.
  • Don’t eat too much just because your eating for two.Light meals every after two hours is recommended.
  • Avoid any colored drinks.

Aside from those tips I was asked to do the following tests and screenings:

  • Urinalysis- Urine test looks for Gestational Diabetis,Preeclampsia and UTI.
  • Blood Typing ABO & RH- RH factor is a protein carried by red blood cells in some people and not in others. If you have protein you are RH positive, for RH negative it requires effective treatment during pregnancy to protect you and the baby.
  • Blood Test-this test looks for platelet count,HbsAg Screening,Syphilis Rapid Test and blood sugar.

So that’s what on Mellie’s mind.
