I can vividly remember everything on this moment. So don’t you worry I can tell you from the start.
It is Wednesday afternoon and I bring my friend with me. Usually, Wednesday is for new patients only. But i texted Dra. if i can visit her on this day because I had my monthly period already. She agreed and we are only 6 patients that time.
I was instructed to have ultrasound to check the sizes of the follicles. I only have 4 follicles on my right ovary measuring less than 1 cm while on my left ovary I only have 6 follicles which also measured less than 1 cm.
The average size of normal follicle to conceive is 2.2 cm to 2.4 cm.
I sent the result via Imessage and she gave me a go signal to take 2.5mg letrozole for 5 consecutive days.
Letrozole is an oral medication used to stimulate ovulation in women with PCOS and unexplained infertility. It is used to cause more than one follicle to mature for fertility treatments.
Letrozole is expensive. I was shookt ! P400 per piece!
On my Day 12 of stimulated cycle I undergone an ultrasound again to check if the size of the follicles change .
On my right ovary, follicles not seen due to overlying bowels while for left ovary from 6 follicles became 14 follicle but still measuring less than 1 cm.
My next follow up check up is on November 23.
